Hello ,

My name is : Howard Kyi ----and , I have been living in the United States , since 1979 . I am a former Burmese who was born in Myitkyina , raised by my father ---who was at one time one of the confident & most trusted friend of the late Prime Minister : U Nu ---in the early 60s and until General Ne Win ---took control of the power and effectively put the country into the hands of the military since that time on .
I have been watching the changes in the political situation since my childhood and sad to see the country has been going down from the prosperity to the poverty level that is one of the bottom of the list that is ranked by the United Nations . I have witnessed the murdering of the Rangoon University Students in 1962 , and to this day a lot of people's lives were being put to death by the Military Generals and very shocking to see that , in the opinion of the world ; the Leaders from the Democratic Society were watching without helping the plights of the Burmese People ; whom were being slaughtered at the hands of the Military Generals just as if they were animals being put to death for human consumptions .
A little more than two years ago , in the Irrawaddy Delta Area : when the Cyclone " Nargis , " strikes at the region : more than two and a half million precious lives were lost due to the " Negligence ," of the Military Authorities and yet at the time of the disasters ; the Military Authorities were conducting the voting process of the " Constitutional Changes ," at the nearby regions which is so close to the Irrawaddy Delta Area .
In the Northern part of the country ; Kachin State ( Myitkyina ) , which is my former hometown & the State located ; the Military Generals with the People's Republic of China : have an agreement to construct a dam at the beginning of the Irrawaddy River : which is one of the Second Largest River in the world after the Amazon River from Brazil . The Local Kachin Ethnic People ; who has been living around the river for centuries were being forced to relocate without the proper compensations . More than 60 villages were being forced to evacuate from the effected areas as , after the completion of the dam : which will be flooded with water . The Local Kachin Ethnic People have so many times pleading to the Chinese President and the Burmese Military General : Than Shwe ; were being ignored . At the time of the relocating of the effected area ; ( and still relocating ), the towns people from Myitkyina , were being " Forced ", to dispatched to the villages and " Forced ," all the Local Kachin People to move out from their homes .
Now , the Military Generals are "Playing a poker games ," with the Burmese People and the Communities of the World by , having a " SHAM ," election in a little more than 4 months from now . Since, 1962 with the take over of the power from the elected government , the successive military generals after one another were using their authorities as a government ( which is not necessarily in the form of recognized by the Burmese People ), and committed so many " Atrocities , Murders , Raping of the young , pregnant , and married women alike , with the Children Soldiers being recruited to the military ( as the children were being forced and taken away from their loved ones ), and so many other unaccounted crimes were being committed by the Military Generals and their purported supporters .
With all the above statements ; I am writing this letter to you on behalf of the Burmese People and the Burmese Exiles living in other countries throughout the world : Please help the Burmese People , as we are all having the benefits as the Democratic Society and hopefully will bring changes to Burma & Liberate all the Burmese People from the " Nazis Supremacist Military Generals of the Burmese Army , ".
