Maybe the Burma military is flirting with Aung San Suu Kyi, but they continue raping girls and women in Shan State: On 28 August, three Burmese soldiers (1corporal and 2 privates) from Na Lurng base under LIB 579 based on Murng Sat raped a 17-year old girl, Nang Hseng of Wan Mawn village, Murng Kok village tract, Murng Sat Township. When Nang Hseng was staying alone in he house, the said Burmese soldiers entered and raped her. As Nang Hseng cried to seek help, but they beat her until she was unconscious and gang-raped her. Then they left for their base. After her parents learned that their daughter was beaten and raped, they took her to the local hospital for medical treatment which saved her life. When the village headman complained this case to the local commander of LIB 579 at Na Lurng base, he was beaten fiercely because the commander accused him of making an attempt of defamation of the Burmese soldiers. The villagers were threatened not to tell this case to anyone or they all would be killed. No one dared to complain about this case to anybody
